Can smart locks show unlock records?
Explanation
Most app-based smart locks can show unlock records, but how the records sync depends on the lock type and gateway connection.
For a Bluetooth smart lock without a gateway, the unlock records are usually stored in the lock first. You may need to stand near the lock, open the app, go to the record/log section and tap refresh or sync to pull the latest records through Bluetooth.
For WiFi locks or Bluetooth locks connected through a gateway, records may sync through the internet. However, even in this case, the record may not always appear instantly. There can still be cloud or connection delay.
Common mistakes
- Expecting Bluetooth lock records to update remotely without a gateway
- assuming all unlock records are real-time
- checking records far away from a Bluetooth-only lock.
Troubleshooting / next steps
- For Bluetooth-only locks, stand near the lock and refresh the records in the app. For gateway/WiFi locks, check whether the gateway or lock is online and wait for sync if records are delayed.
