Compatibility

Can devices from different apps work together? Sometimes through Google Home, Alexa, Matter or Home Assistant, but not always. Which app should I use for each brand? Smart Life/Tuya use Smart Life or Tuya Smart; Sonoff uses eWeLink; Broadlink/Bestcon use Broadlink; TTLock uses TTLock. Should I choose one ecosystem for my whole house? Yes, it is usually easier for setup and support. Can RF devices be controlled from outside home? Only if connected to a compatible smart RF bridge or alarm system. Can all Smart Life devices support Google Home? Most do, but not every category or function is supported. Can all eWeLink devices support Google Home? Many do, but locks and some special devices may not.

What is eWeLink app? eWeLink is the app used by Sonoff and eWeLink ecosystem devices.

Google Home

Can I control smart devices with Google Home? Yes, if the device ecosystem supports Google Home.

Home Assistant

Can your devices work with Home Assistant? Some can, but it depends on model and integration.

Matter

What is Matter smart home? Matter is a smart home standard for cross-platform compatibility. Matter vs Smart Life: which should I choose? Choose Matter for cross-platform flexibility; choose Smart Life for wider Tuya device variety. Matter vs eWeLink: which is better? Matter is more cross-platform; eWeLink is suitable for Sonoff/eWeLink users. Does Matter need a hub? For the Matter devices we currently sell, yes. They need a compatible Matter controller/hub for normal smart home use and remote/platform control. Can Matter replace all other smart home apps? Not yet; Matter improves compatibility but does not cover every feature.

Privacy

Are smart home devices cloud-based? Many WiFi smart devices use cloud services.

RF

What is RF remote control? RF is radio-frequency remote control, usually for local control.

Security

Do smart home devices require monthly fee? Most basic smart home functions do not require a monthly fee. Some apps may offer optional VIP or premium features, but normal users usually can use free functions.

What is Smart Life app? Smart Life is an app used for many Tuya-based smart devices.

What is TTLock app? TTLock is an app mainly for TTLock smart locks and padlocks.

Tuya

Is Tuya Smart the same as Smart Life? They are closely related apps in the Tuya ecosystem.

Voice Assistant

Can voice assistants unlock smart locks? TTLock can work with Alexa and Google Home for lock control when used with a compatible gateway and proper settings. Smart Life voice unlock is not confirmed in our current experience.

WiFi

What is WiFi smart home device? WiFi devices connect directly to your router.

Zigbee

What is Zigbee smart home? Zigbee is a low-power wireless protocol that usually needs a gateway. Is Zigbee better than WiFi? Neither is always better; it depends on usage. Is Zigbee better than WiFi for condos or crowded WiFi environments? Zigbee can be a better choice in condos with heavy 2.4 GHz WiFi interference because it uses a gateway and creates a low-power smart home network, but compatibility depends on ecosystem and gateway.
